MOST certainly. The idea here is to understand what you are paying for and how to do the math to negotiate the best lease. For a business, I might suggest leasing is probably preferred, IF you cut yourself a good to fair deal.

Doug… Aren’t there times though when a lease is better for a company that doesn’t want to always be reselling their vehicles?

I agree, also another good article on a sensative topic. But one that must be discussed if it is ever to change. I can't imagine the heartbreak of parents who lose children to suicide. I know my youngest daughter had an acquiantance that took his life and it really affected her. When you think about it, this is sometimes there first exposure to death and they don't know how to deal with it.

Candace,
Thanks for the kind words on the articles. You make a very good point. The earlier the age of the parental bond being formed, the easier the teen years will be. Otherwise, relations will be more strained by then, due to an earlier absence of time together. Teens will be prone to associate this with lack of interest in them or no time for them. We're all territorial by nature, including teens. Going into territory where they're more comfortable will be much more beneficial than forcing them into yours. I hope you continue to follow the articles and provide comments and suggestions when you wish.

Another good article! I would like to add one more suggestion, and that is you if you have to force your teen to spend time with you, then do so! Teens woud rather keep their parents at arms length, and probably will say that they don't want to spend time with you. Simply asking them if they want to do something with you will almost always invoke a "no" from your teen - afterall, it's not COOL to hang around with mom or dad. I say don't give them an option! Schedule time with them whether they want to or not. And do things with them that THEY like to do. When they are older, they will treasure those times and you'll be glad that you didn't listen to their protests.

Very good article. Teen suicide a much bigger problem than most of us adults want to admit.

I am neither democrat or republican - guess I would be considered an independent. I blame both parties for the Obamacare fiasco - the democrats for being so bent on ramming something through that probably a lot of people in Congress never read the bill - and the republicans for being so bent on not passing it they became sore losers.
One question I have is - who is going to be responsible for seeing that everyone buys health insurance. Some say the IRS will be responsible, but so far this has not been clarified. If the IRS can't keep up with its own tax program, how can it take on such a hugh task? If half of the people who can afford insurance would buy it, instead of buying things they don't need, part of the problem would be solved. It comes down to buying a need, not a want. Basic personal responsibility is what is so lacking. Also, with so many more million people insured, where are all the doctors coming from to treat these people? We are already in a doctor/nurse shortage. I fear we will see a drastic increase in the time required to get a doctor's appointment and wait time.

Thanks Tom for that powerful insight. There's definitely plenty of places to point fingers and the "working together" theory has fallen apart. Hope you continue to read the column.
