Equine Art

Artist Bob Jones - My work predominantly uses the medium of pen and ink, probably my favorite technique which I take to extremes. Although very time consuming, it is surprisingly versatile. It allows me to create textures and detail in a wide range and lighting that can be striking in contrast or quite subtle.

Black and white is my focus. It is elegant, clean, and honest. Many people think of pen and ink as a rigid and hard-edged medium. I find that to be totally untrue. With lots of patience, you can create and image whose range of effects is unsurpassed.

My work can be found in many homes and collections around the country. My studio is at the Natchez House in Leiper's Fork, Tennessee.

Artist Norb Skalski - My work is driven by the core of human existence, emotion and its external presence. I see myself as a social critic who has developed an expresionistic style in the context of Van Gogh and Picasso, as well as such abstract expressionists as Nolde, Kirschner and Munch.

Primarily interested in figurative art composition. I have always avoided easy moralistic judgments, preferring to explore primal human characteristics that become apparent to the viewer only after he or she has spent ample time considering them.

I am a social observer and critic whose interest lies in expressing people's thoughts and feelings.

Artist Art Faschan lives in New Port Richey, Florida, where from his studio window, he can watch his horses and dog frolicking in the paddock on the ranch he shares with his wife, Gail.

In 1999 Mr. Faschan acquired national recognition with a work he created a portrait of Gene Autry for the Golden Boot Awards to benefit the Motion Picture and Television Fund in Beverly Hills, CA. Over the course of four years he created portraits of Clayton Moore, Chuck Norris, Eli Wallach, Peter Fonda, Stuart Whitman, among others.

He created a Portrait of Memories of Neil Armstrong which was commissioned by creators of a memorial to Neil Armstrong and the Lunar Lem in Armstrong's home town in Ohio.

He has had numerous appearances on Tampa area television stations, as well as exposure through newspaper and magazine articles throughout the country. The article that excited Mr. Faschan the most was in the Cowboys and Indians publication, featuring his portrait of Hank Williams Sr., which was commissioned by Jett Williams, his daughter.

(The picture is of me and my horse, Soupy, who turned 26 this last May. We got her when she was one year old. We also have a 10 year old gelding, Poncho. whom we've had for about 3 years)
